The modified tubercle bacilli appearing in the urine after injection of our Squalin (C30 H50) into tuberculous patients, are various in microscopical features and s taining properties, especially in the case of the Squalin injected possessing certain limits in its physical natures, for example, with the refractory index the specific gravity or the boiling point at a certain value, I have observed in the urine after injection of such Squalin nearly 100% of modified tubercle bacilli in the form of diplococci of non-acidfast staining, and these forms of the modified tubercle bacilli can also sometimes found in the urine of tuberculous patients without injection of such Squalin. Considering from my fairly many examinations of the urine of tuberculous patients, we are able to find these forms of modified tubercle bacilli on an average nearly in 15% spontaneously, especially frequently in the urine of pulmonary tuberculosis or tuberculous serositis in good nature. These forms of modified tubercle bacilli found in the urine after Squalininjection can also mostly be isolated from the cirsulating blood as a pure culture of such strains at the same time. The author has laboured on such strains purely isolated, out of the urine from all angles of serology and the successive direct-passage-examination to guinea-pigs, and the results plainly and surely demonstrated the fact that these modified strains were truely sprung from the typical Koch's tubercle bacilli.
