(1) The amino acid content of muscle protein prepared from protein-deficient and tryptophan-deficient rat was determined. (2) The tryptophane content of the muscle protein was lower in tryptophane-deficient rats than in protein-deficient rats, and it was lower in protein-deficient rats than in control animals. (3) Diamino acids: monoamino acids ratio and lysine content of muscle protein were lower in protein-deficient rats than in tryotophane-deficient rats, and they were lower in tryptophane deficient rats than in control animals. (4) Tyrosine and histidine contents of muscle protein were lower in protein-deficient rats than in the control. The protein deficiency affected the muscle protein of rats in the same manner as stated by A. ROCHE(4).
