• In this paper the author reports that the germination percentage, vigor and time for the tube rupture are greatly different according to the kind of sugar used in nutritive solution for germinating bed. Monosaccharides are inferior than disaccharides. Trisaccharides and tetrasaccharides are inferior than both monosaccharides and disacchardes. Among disaccharides cane sugar is the best. Milk sugar is as valuable as monosaccharides though maltose is not more nutritive than monosacchorides. In dilute solutions the tube rupture comes very early and the last length of the pollen tubes were longest in cane sugar solution, shortest in tri- and tetrasaccharides solutions.
