An Endoscopic and Bioptic Study on Chronic Gastritis:(II) Criteria for Atrohic Gastritis by Endoscopic Examination with Light-Guide Fibergastroscope

In the first report, it was reported that it was necessary that re-examination be made of the endoscopic citeria for atrophic gastritis based on the observation with light-guide fibergastroscope (Light-Guide FGS).Of the 12 bioptic sections taken by the chronic gastritis one dozen technique, those of the lesser curvature of the middle gastric body, the lesser curvature of the lower gastric body, the lesser curvature of the antrum and the greater curvature of the antrum were selected and endoscopic findings made with the Light-Guide FGS and bioptic findings of atrophic gastritis were studied and compared.The make-up of defallen examinations was made of the homogeneous fine granuration of patients who had no atrophic gastritis at the lesser curvature of the lower gastric body.Furthermore considering the difference of grandular distribution, on the basis of this study, new endoscopic criteria for the examination of atrophic gastritis with the Light-Guide FGS in these four areas of the stomach were developed.
