This report treats of the study on the quantitative spectrochemical analysis of steels by the solution method using porous cup electrode.<BR>The results of this study are summarized as follows:<BR>1. This method is very simple and applicable one with good reproducibility and without any influence of the change of solvent on the relative intensity ratio of each analysis element.<BR>2. Quantitative analysis of several elements in carbon steel, low alloy steel and 18-8 stainless steel can be conducted with satisfactory result.<BR>3. By applying this method, quantitative analysis can be conducted without any influence of extraneous elements on the relative intensity ratio of each analysis element even in case of high alloy steel such as 18-8 stainless steel.
