The observations on the changes in numbers of larvae of Pecten and Gastropoda, appeared in the surface layer of Lake Saroma were made at intervals of 2 hours during 22-hours' period from 6.00 p. m., May 30th, 1940, to 4.00 p. m., next day, and showed that Gastropoda larvae abundantly appeared at flood-tide in the night, while the great number of Pecten larvae began to occur from the afternoon without relation to outer water inflowing. Whether the changes were caused by the diurnal migrations of these organismus themselves or by the tidal ebb and flow, however, is not altogether certain, for these two factors were reduplicated in the observations. But the latter seems to be rather the more influential facter than the former. Further observations shall be continued on this point.
