The results of marking experiments, as well as the records of body-weight and of catch of Ommastrephus pacificus, APPELLOF, caught at several fishing grounds around Japan, during every decades in the fishing season, were analysed, leading to the conclusion that there are two main age-groups, with the age-difference of one year between them, one having body-weight of 50me (1me=3.75g), and the other of 70me. The survival rate is 0•67, while fishing rate is about 0•11.
