The effect of high pressure, 10 Kg/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, was examined with respect to Schistosoma japonicum cercariae. High pressure affected about 20% of cercariae in the pressurizing period, having them lose their tails and sedimenting them to the bottom of the test tubes. These cercariae might cause lower infectivity at 2 hours after pressurization and high death rate at 24 hours. At 24 hours after pressurization the infection rate were practically same for the pressurized and the control cercariae.
