Reaction of UF6 with graphite was reported relatively early times in the history of syntheses of graphite intercalation compounds(1). Nevertheless, characterization of the compounds has not been reported in detail. In this work the reactions of UF6 and β-UF5 with graphite were examined and the structures of the compounds are discussed based on the results of X-ray powder diffraction.
