One hundred and eight cases consisting of 76 cases of ulcerative colitis or proctitis, 8 cases of Crohn's disease, 8 cases of radiation proctitis, 9 cases of aphthoid proctitis and 4 cases of chronic, non-specific diarrhea were treated mainly with predonisolone suppository.<BR>The results were, excellent in 62 cases (58.5%), good in 24 cases (22.6%), and fair in. 18 cases (17.0%). No cases showed ineffective or worsened in this series.<BR>The side-effects were rather rare (7 cases, 6.4%) and minor.<BR>It is concluded that predonisolone supporitory is excellent for the cases of mild or moderate severity at their homes.
