Analysis of Surgical Cases Out of 1300 X-ray Examination of the Intestines

1300 X-ray examinations of the intestines were perfomed during 3 years since 1971 in the surgical department of YAHATA SAISEIKAI HOSPITAL. Pathological or obviously abnormal lesions were observed in 25 per cent of all cases.<BR>It seemed to be a valuable fact that pathological diagnosis was made also in the patients without any complaint in the enqete of 550 working peoples. The disease which gave us some difficulties in deciding the indication for surgical procedures were diverticular disease, elongata moville, nodular lymphoid hyperplasia, and lymphoadenitis of the intestines. X-ray examination of the small intestine. was carried out by the method of duodenal intubation in 80 cases and pathological findings were found in 9 cases. Thus, surgical and non surgical disorders of the intestines seem to be present in a higher frequency than expected even among working peoples.<BR>Our results indicate that much more attension should be paid also to the disease of the intestines.
