Steel making arc furnace has been thoroughly equipped with evacuation system as a measure of fume dust etc. for several years because of preventing pollution and keeping working environment clean. There are three types evacuation systems such as direct evacuation system, roof evacuation system, and sky house. The point is to control gas flow appropriately in accordance with the operational pattern of arc furnace by arranging these evacuation systems efficiently and economically.Recently, simulation technology has been adopted as a virtual method of improving analysis precision. While bucket type scrap preheater has spread widely as the most effective use of arc furnace exhaust gas until now, higher temperature and more efficient preheating system such as Twin Shell system or Multistage Super Preheater (MSP) is adopted in recent trend.As the measure of saving energy in evacuation system, booster system with arranging direct and roof evacuation system, regulation of the number of revolution in blower, and energy saving bag filter etc. are adopted. Automatic exhaust system and pelletizer for gathered dust are also introduced with higher expectation. Evacuation system with thorough energy saving and full automation will be expected from now.
