Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be the core technology for the future computer application systems. And it will be an indispensable technology to promote the intelligent system.In the steel industry, AI technologies have been actively applied to make higher intelligent systems. Recently, many AI applications have effectively worked.At Daido Steel Co., Ltd., a study of AI technology has started since 1987. And then, AI center was organized in the Information and Systems Department in 1988.This paper describes the AI technology development (such as Expert system, Neural network and Fuzzy ) and Daidos approach as the following.(1) Material selection system for injection mold.(2) Scheduling system (2 types).(3) Trouble shooting system for molding using Neural network.
