Application of HPLC/MS with Self-spouting and Vacuum Nebulizing Assisted Interface to the Analysis of Triglycerides (イオン化特集)

A directly coupled high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) and a mass spectrometer (MS) through a self-spouting and vacuum nebulizing assisted interface was applied to the analysis of various triglycerides of which fatty acid components ranged from C2 and C12. HPLC separation of the triglycerides was carried out by a reversed phase column using a mixture mobile phase of acetonirile tetrahydrofuran (70: 30 vol). Mass spectrometric detection was made by quadrupole mass spectrometer. Although the exact position of the fatty acid components in the triglycerides could not be determined, the combination of three fatty acid groups was easily determined by the selected ion monitoring (SIM) of the HPLC eluent.
