The special steel manufacturer uses four kinds of analytical method including optical emission spectometry as analysis of steel in furnace. Because analysis of special steel needs high accuracy for strict specification. Therefore the infrared absorption method after combustion that is exclusive analytical method is used for carbon and sulfur. In addition, the thermal conductimetric method after inert gas fusion that is exclusive analytical method is used for nitrogen. When we execute promotion of efficiency, use of having many kinds analytical method is disturbed. We introduced the optical emmisson spectometer which was high sensitivity into analysis of carbon, sulfur and nitrogen. And we developed analytical method of carbon, sulfur and nitrogen by optical emmisson spectometry. This method was able to analyze carbon contents between 0.001%(m/m) and 1.5%(m/m) and sulfur content between 0.0005%(m/m) and 0.2%(m/m), and nitrogen content between 0.001% (m/m) and 0.4%(m/m). However, analytical accuracy of carbon and sulfur was shortage with sample more than sulfur content 0.2%(m/m) by influence of MnS.
