Using 5 years of panel data from the Yearbook of Chinese Food Industry from 1998 to 2002, we empirically evaluated the agglomeration effects indicated by the Location Quotient and provincial value added in the Chinese food industry. By estimating a Cobb-Douglas production function, we confirmed agglomeration effects on the provincial value of the Chinese food industry from 1998 to 2002.JEL Classification: R11, R30
