1. The author have made this experiments to discover the influence of animal and vegetable proteins as rations for hens in relation to their laying abilities. 2. I n experiment (A) carried out at the Agr. Depart. of the Kyushu Imp. Univ., white Leghorn pullets were used. The majority of the protein used as rations was derived from fish-meal and soy-bean cake. The pullets were divided into 3 groups as follows : (snip) 3. From the following table it is evident that the numerical production, the total annual weight of eggs and the average weight per egg produced by the group fed on animal protein, i.e. fish-meal, are all slightly higher than for those fed on vegetable protein, i.e. soy-bean cake. The number of hens in C group 12 converted into 18 as well as A and B. (snip) 4. In experiment (B) carried out at Fukuoka Expt. Sta. of Poultry Breeding, White Leghorn pullets were also used. From the following table it is clearly e vident that there is almost no differences between the figures obtained fish-meal group and those from soy-bean cake group. The number of hens was 50 per group. (snip) The average annual numbers of eggs for the groups were nearly identical and amounted to 206 ; these results are excellent data as to laying abilities. 5. It is fully recognized by the writers that the number of hens in the experiment (A) were too small and that there was difficulty in obtaining hens of good quality. The unequal results of both experiments (A) and (B), therefore, were probably caused by the individualities of hens used in the experiment (A) and other factors such as the differences of the combination of inorganic salts, the basal rations and the feeding management.産卵鷄に給與すべき蛋白質飼料にして共の給源を動物質より得たるものと, 植物質より得たるものとの比較試驗を行ひたり。而して動物性蛋白質補給飼料として魚粉末(鰯〆粕)を, 植物性蛋白補給飼料として大豆粕(數粕)を使用し以て産卵能力に如何なる影響左及ぼすかを調査研究せり。
