The nicotine content was determined in the green tobacco leaves which were situated in the different parts of the stems. In order to avoid the loss of nicotine, both originally free or set free tduring drying, the leaves to be examined were dehydrated by means of gypsum, crushed in power, and desiccated in vacuum at room temperature. For the purpose of determining nicotine, Shedd's method which is a combination of the Kissling and regular silicotungstic acid methods was used. From the results of the experiments the writer came to the conclusion bat the nicotine content increases from the lower to the higher leaves.1 緑葉のニコチン含量を比較せんため供試品は石膏によつて脱水粉碎乾燥せるものを用ひたり。2 SHEDD 氏の硅ターグステン酸によるニコチン定量法を採用せり。3 實驗結果の範圍内に於ては煙草緑葉に於ては土葉より天葉に至るに從ぴ乾物量竝びにニコチン量は漸次増加す。
