All artifacts are operated by humans, all tools were invented by humans, and they have improved human life immeasurably. Therefore, humanity must be respected in a production process. Human-Centered System is important in realizing this way of thinking. “Ergonomics” or “Human Factors” is one of the fields that has focused upon necessity of Human-Centered System. This paper describes the outline of ergonomics and human error. Furthermore, six themes studied by author are introduced. In the final theme, the necessity of a human centered system is discussed based on the results of these studies. The six themes are as follows: (1) Cognitive modeling and its application to risk analysis. (2) Relationship of the information acquisition process of a beginner and a skill. (3) Influence on performance by the characteristics of a partner. (4) An analysis of communication in human-human cooperative work. (5) Revitalization of a central shopping center based on the human error analysis approach. (6) Human-centered manufacturing system.　Key Words : Human-centered system, Ergonomics, Human Factors
