Drying characteristics of sewage sludge in hot oil was investigated in this work. Water content based on mass of wet sludge decreased from 80.0% to 5% at 154℃ within 0.5h holding in cooking oil, while the yield of dried sludge decreased to 27% and 26% in cooking oil and kerosene, respectively. Hexane extraction yield of the sludge subjected to the drying was equivalent with to 49% and 42% in cooking oil and kerosene, respectively. The results suggest that amount of kerosene adsorbed to the sludge was less than that of cooking oil.
