Dewatering characteristics of sewage sludge in hot oil under vacuum was investigated in this work. Water content of the sludge decreased from 80% to 2% at 93℃ with 2 h holding. Residual oil content of the dried sludge increased with decreasing of the water content and the relationship between the oil content and the water content was independent of the temperature in the temperature range from 83 to 93℃. It was found that 83% of water in the sludge was removed without adsorption of oil and the other was removed with the adsorption.
