This paper formulates the optimal supervisory control problem of quantitative discrete event systems (DESs) modeled by weighted automata. We evaluate a control performance using a mean-payoff value of a sequence generated by the supervised DES, and propose a game theoretic design method of a supervisor using a two-player turn-based game automaton. The objective of the supervisor, as the first player, is to maximize the value of the generated sequence, while the DES, as the second player, aims to minimize it. We use the mean-payoff function as the control performance and design an optimal supervisor.
