A strong acid wastewater including arsenic (As) has polluted rivers and soils, and applicable treatments of As are needed. In this study, goethite and ultrasound oxidation were applied to remove As(III) from the acidic solution (pH 2.2). We found that, As removal rate was raised from 26.3% to 89.4%. The As removal rate became higher at the condition of sonication before goethite addition (89.4%) than that after goethite addition (82.4%).
