This paper proposes an online algorithm that minimizes the total completion time (i.e., the summation of each completion time to execute a request and to move each AGV to the initial position after all executions) in a centrally-controlled AGV system. The online model is considered and the performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed by the competitive analysis, which is proved to be 3k + 3n, where k and n are the total numbers of AGVs and requests, respectively.
