Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) has capability of datalink including Downlink Aircraft Parameters (DAPs). DAPs is expected to improve air traffic surveillance function and performance. SSR Mode S system is being deployed and equipment supporting DAPs is mandated for aircraft within the major part of European airspace. In order to employ DAPs for Air Traffic Control (ATC) service, the reliability of data is important. To detect erroneous parameters, MIT Lincoln Laboratory has developed a DAPs validation system. Preparing for future use of DAPs in Japan, Electronic Navigation Research Institute (ENRI) developed an SSR mode S experimental system and has been collecting DAPs data. ENRI started development of a DAPs monitoring system, applying algorithms developed by MIT Lincoln Laboratory. We executed tests with DAPs data collected by the Mode S experimental system, so as to examine the validity of MDV (MIT DAPs Validation) tests. This paper reports the results of tests for static information of avionics configuration and status, and analysis of test results for DAPs dynamic values.
