A case study was conducted of food poisoning reported to the Ministry of Health Labor and Welfare. Cases were gathered from multiple internet sites and newspaper articles of food poisoning taking place in schools in recent years and were examined for tendencies of food poisoning to occur in school events such as cooking classes. As a result, in recent years, all food poisoning that occurs in the country, is higher in both the number of incidents, number of patients, and the pathogen of food poisoning Campylobacter jejuni / coli is showing up in schools frequently. Norovirus food poisoning is showing up in rice cake making tournaments, and Campylobacter jejuni / coli are abundant in cooking practice and especially during barbecue tournaments. Distinctive food poisoning that occurs in schools, natural toxins -those natural vegetable poisons are the substances causing food poisoning, which are a type of Solanine poisoning that occurs from eating potatoes grown at school. Others, clostridium perfringens that often lead to large-scale incidents, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus, Enterohemorrhagic E. coli that may cause death or seriously illness, botulism poisoning or chemical contamination also including food allergies etc., have all occurred in schools in the past. I hope to investigate and analyze any food poisoning that may occur in the future, from various angles, and consider measures to prevent food poisoning according to actual situations in schools.
