• We carried out programming exercises on the microcomputer by programming with C language at thedepartment of electric engineering and information science at Kure National College of Technology. Theseexercises focused on performing the practical application rather than understanding the principle of operation in amicrocomputer. Furthermore, the exercises aimed for the student who had learned the C language but had notprogrammed the microcomputer by the machine language, to understand the application for a microcomputer. Thispaper describes the contents of the exercise. The result of a questionnaire showed that the students deepened theirunderstanding of a microcomputer operation, and that their interest level correlated with the difficulty level.
