We carried out programming exercises on the digital signal processing with the Matlab at thedepartment of electric engineering and information science at Kure National College of Technology.Usually, emphasis has put on study of the mathematical contents, such as a Fourier transform, Laplacetransform, Z conversion and the discrete Fourier transform in the lecture of digital signal processing, but thepractical applications, such as a FIR filter and an IIR filter, etc. have given briefly. The exercises aimed forthe student who had learned the C language but had not learned the theory of the digital signal processing.After executing the audio signal processing methods, the students were able to execute the digital imageprocessing functions. The result of a questionnaire showed that the students realized the importance ofdigital signal processing technology.
