For the image processing, real compactly supported wavelets with symmetry are desirable. But it was proved that except for Haar basis, all real orthogonal wavelets with compact support are not symmetric. Recently, generalization of the wavelet was proposed to avoid this problem. It is DGHM multiwavelet which removes the above restriction, allowing multiple scaling functions. In this paper we shall propose multiwavelet packet which is better to represent high-frequency information. We also show some numerical experiments of multiwavelet packet. These results demonstrate that our techniques exhibit performance superior to the known results in several cases.
