薬用植物種子の研究(第10報) : 黄連種子の成熟から発芽にいたるまでのアルカロイド組成の変動について

The seeds of Coptis japonica MAKINO var. dissecta NAKAI mainly contained protoberberine type alkaloids-berberine (1), jatrorrhizine (2), coptisine (3), palmatine (4)-and benzophenantorizine type alkaloids-sanguinarine (5), dihydrosanguinarine (6). Time causes variations of these 6 alkaloid contents in the seeds during the process of ripening and to the germination were investigated. The amounts of 1〜4 started increasing in November. Since the seeds began to germinate, in December, it suggested that those protoberberine alkaloid contents were related to the growth of embryo. The amounts of 5 and 6 did not change. In February, when the seed-coat came off the seeds, 5 and 6 were detected in the seed-coat, albumen and cotyledon, but not in hypocotyl. After three months, 5 and 6 were not detected in the plants. It was shown that 5 and 6 were not produced in embryo: they might move into embryo from seed-coat or albumen.
