Foglizzo (2009) (hereafter F09) suggested a toy model with highly simplified setup to investigate physical mechanism of the standing accretion shock instability (SASI). We perform numerical simulations of this toy model to confirm quantitatively the results of perturbative approach of F09. We demonstrate that our simulations reproduce the perturbative calculations of F09 fairly well. At the same time, SASI has received considerable attention in recent years as an explosion mechanism of core-collapse supernova and substantial numerical simulations involving SASI have been performed actively. Using the present toy model, we argue the resolution that allows SASI to be produced with a high degree of accuracy. We suggest that the simple set up of this toy model can be used as a benchmark test for such numerical simulations.
