In Japanese management, an enterprise is both functional and communal. It is both rational and sympathetic. In American and European management, an enterprise pursues only rationality. To give the status, stability and rich quality of life to workers is the important responsibility of Japanese enterprises. Y theory by Mac Gregor and System 4 theory by Likert support that Japanese management is more effective than American and European management. In this meaning, Japanese management is an advanced management style. On the other hand, Japanese management has the feature of groupism, the great difference between inside and outside, and the excessive enclosure of workers to their companies. Faceless and homegeneous individuals stem from Japanese management. Independense and freedom of individuals should be established for the fresh start of Japanese management. The simultaneous realization of economic, human and social responsibility is the urgent theme of business ethics.
