The problem unscribed on the face is not something out of the ordinary because many scholors have been trying the approximate analysis for a long time and Dr. Kumai's investigation into the second spectrum of natural frequency had been published recently. On the occasion of that we seek after a natural frequency of a ship, this solution mentioned above would not be put to practical use unless carrying out revision with the effects of variable section, virtualmass and pertial vibration. Since I believe that it is extremely important for us to come to a well-defined conclusion on the fundamental problem mentioned outside, I made a calculation including the range which we think it will be used at present or at no very distant date.
