The purpose of this study is to clarify the accountability of occupational therapists in obtaining informed consent. First, the duties of occupational therapists is outlined. Then the history of accountability and informed consent is reviewed. Second, it is confirmed that during the long-term relationship between occupational therapists and clients in the practice of occupational therapy, the disclosure of information based on the process model of dialogue? in accord with the subjective standard is regarded as a defacto standard. Furthermore, we described that occupational therapists have accountability as a response to their clients in accord with the subjective standard.
