• 1.日本産アトモンミズメイガ属(Nymphicula)4種を記載し,本属の分類学的位置について考察した.2.4種のうち,N.saigusai(アトモンミズメイガ),N.albibasalis(モトシロアトモンミズメイガ〔新称〕),N.minuta(コアトモンミズメイガ〔新称〕)は新種であり,またN.junctalis(HAMPSON)(アマミアトモンミズメイガ〔新称〕)は日本初記録である.3.N.saigusai YOSHIYASUは,現在までN.blandialis(WALKER)として知られていた種である.また丸毛(1923)により,種子島の標本に基づいてCataclysta junctalis HAMPSONとして日本から記録されていた種は,四国・九州から琉球列島にかけて分布するNymphicula minuta YOSHIYASUであることが判った.4.N.saigusai YOSHIYASUとN.junctalis(HAMPSON)の幼虫は陸生で,山の切り通しの山側の斜面に生息しており,ツボミゴケJungermannia truncata NEESや蘇類を食草とする.幼虫は土で長さ約lcm(老熟幼虫)の円筒形の巣(ケース)を作る.生息地を含め両種の幼生期はよく似ているが,幼虫の刺毛や蛹の刺毛数,それに巣の形状などによって明瞭に区別できる.
