Fruits eating-quality peaches `hakuto' in Yamanashi, Yamagata, and Aomori and `ohgonto` in Nagano were used to measure the distribution of sugar content(Brix). To obtain the distribution map of sugar content, the fruit was divided to thirteen or twenty-one sample pieces with size of 1.5 x 1.5 cm by cutting in which fruit-top, fruit-equator and fruit-bottom layers were separated and cut from all quarters surrounding the seed. Differences in sugar content were found among cultivars of peaches. The fruit of Yamanashi hakuto` was the highest sugar content (about 20) among other `hakuto`. In the fruit of eating-quality peach cultivars, `hakuto` appeared higher quality than other `ohgonto which was yellow color peach. The fruit with large size such as 300g weight was supplied to the measurement of sugar content distribution using a twenty-one sample peace. The sugar content on the top position of the fruit was higher than that in the other positions, in which the sugar content decreased as the position varies from the top to the bottom in the fruit. The sugar content in the position of near seed was higher than that of near fruit skin.
