• Ariake sea coast road, which connects Oomuta-City to Kajima-City, is Regional High-Standard Highways of about 55km in total length. This road was constructed in the soft ground that consists of Ariake clay. We needed to solve various technical subjects to construct it. Thereupon, we established the committee for this project and carried out test banking and numerical analysis. We made the design and execution standard that considered the ground characteristics in this area. As a result, we were able to substantially reduce the total cost of road construction, compared with the original plan.
