The Ariake sea coast road is the regional high standard highway that links Oomuta city and Kashima city. This road was built in the Ariake sea coast area where the Ariake clay accumulated. It was feared that the cost of countermeasure for soft ground becomes fairly high. Therefore, the authors proposed the new technology and new method of countermeasure for soft ground and inspected its effectiveness by conducting test banking and numerical analysis. As a result, substantial total cost reduction of countermeasure for soft ground in Ariake sea coast road was achieved.
