This paper presents a tank test result of wave profiles under an Air Cushion Vehicle (ACV). The cushion pressure sustaining an ACV running of water surface always generates steady-wave in the cushion field and following water surface. Because of the crest of steady-wave at aft skirt sometimes cases the large scoop drag, it is important to know the best location of sealing system taking into account the local wave distribution in cushion plenum. For that purpose a side-walled ACV model which has fore and aft shatters with water level sensors to maintain the cushion pressure and not to scoop water was made specially. Then the tank test was carried out to measure the wave-making resistance by cushion pressure and the distribution of wave height along side walls. Comparisons with computational results using Panel Shift Rankine Source Method are also shown. As a result quantitative agreement of cushion pressure wave-making resistance and qualitative agreement of wave height distribution inside and outside of ACV are shown.
