高速艇船型の復原性に関する一考察

The dynamical stability characteristics of high-speed craft are somewhat different from that of conventional ships because of their hull forms, dimensions and speed. The first part of this paper briefly reviews special characteristics on the stability of hardchine type semi-planing craft. This is followed particulary by the study of roll damping characteristics at various conditions such as in calm water and waves, and at speed by investigating some data of model experiments. The paper also discusses on the effects of the wind velocity in actual craft with small and lower exposed area considering its viscosity loss just above water. The results of the study on this type of craft are shown as the example calculations for actual craft in comparison with the relevant criteria of the dynamical stability at present for a practical design purpose. The last part shows a proposal for the future design of larger and faster craft. Some experimental data are introduced about the roll and directional instability at speed particulary for a round-bilge type semi-displacement hull with high length-beam ratio.
