Considering growing needs for establishing method to predict a fullscale ship's manoeuvrability in a more definitely-defined manner than ever, an investigation was carried out regarding a model-ship correlation technique for manoeuvring motion. A methodology of correlation is proposed referring to the long-established ones in the field of propulsive performance. Based on the manoeuvring derivatives containing expressions of relevant scale-effect previously proposed by the author, inter-connection of the proposed methodology and a manoeuvring mathematical model is clarified. Some examples are shown of predictig fullscale ship's manoeuvring motion by use of the present method, and significance of the method such as the present one is pointed out to lie in that its reliability may gradually be refined through accumulating relevant correlation factors. Admitting there already are various kinds of studies on scale-effects in manoeuvring motion, needs for establishing a full-scale ship's manoeuvrability prediction method as such is pointed out.
