二次元柱状体の規則波中の転覆実験

The experiments on capsize of two-dimensional bodies have been carried out in regular transeverse waves. The critical wave height for shipping water over the bulwarks were calculated in order to determined the height of regular wave. From these results, the wave height in the experiments adopted a half of the effective freeboard height and its frequency were chosen from natural rolling frequency to heigh frequency of waves. The experimental results show that the capsize of two-dimensional bodies occurred in near synchronism with the natural heaving frequency and in the range of heigh frequency of waves. The capsize was caused by the quantity of shipping water on the deck and its dynamic effects. In the case of small wave height, the capsize did not occur in near synchronism with the natural rolling frequency.
