The Impressions of Moscow(Mosukuwa Inshoki) is based on Miyamoto Yuriko's real experiences of traveling in Moscow in 1927. There are many names of places and several famous memorials of Moscow such as Red Square, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour. Arbert's Street that appear here and there in this text. However, they are not written at random, but are consciously constructed, forming a salient contextual urban background in which the narrative takes place. thus, their arrangement is mostly corresponded with the structure of its narrative. This paper tries to illuminate that The Impressions of Moscow, which is apt to be merely considered as an impressionistic writing of traveling, has a structural particularity that is made skillfully, by focusing on the relation between its narrative and city.
