The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of training students who would teach English at junior or senior high schools. It was expected that training students would help them practice teaching English more effectively. In the study, 11 university students who had practiced teaching English at junior and senior high schools evaluated their own experience of practicing the teaching of English at junior or senior high schools after their experiences, and the teachers who had helped the students at junior or senior high schools evaluated them. The students' and the teachers' evaluations were used to see the effects of training the students to teach English. The result showed that most of the university students had strong enthusiasm, high motivation, and good flexibility in teaching English, but they were lacking some confidence in English proficiency and knowledge of English usage and grammar. At the same time, the experience of practicing the teaching of English became a good motivator for the university students to study English harder.
