This investigation examined factor structure and relationship to career decision-making self-efficacy and clarified the influence of vicarious learning on self-efficacy. Participants were 182 university students, of which 89 were exposed to vicarious learning by reading sentences about job hunting from successfully employed graduates. Results of the study were as follows. (1) For career decision-making self-efficacy, four factors, "information gathering", "aptitude appraisal", "problem solving" and "situation adjustment", were extracted. (2) Information gathering, aptitude appraisal and vicarious learning were revealed to be important factors for encouraging persistence in job hunting. These results indicate that educational interventions that encourage students to gain insight into the relationship between themselves and occupations/companies and allows them to make a satisfying self-appraisal are important to support job hunting. It was also suggested that graduates were important as a source of information.
