小児甲状腺機能低下症の臨床的研究 : 第2編小児甲状腺機能低下症に対するヨードカゼイン療法

Eleven cases of hypothyroidism without goiter were treated with iodocasein. The clinical observation obtained were summarized as follows : (1) An adequated standard dose of iodocasein was 150mg daily. (2) Few days after the treatment, patients had marked improvement in myxedematous faces, and became more active and energetic. (3) The remarkable increment of height occured in all cases. (4) The rapid improvement and normarlization of anemia and sedimentation rate were observed. (5) The normalization of the abnormal carbohydrates metabolism were observed. (6) Devoluted capillary pictures in finger nail beds were corrected in normal. (7) Low voltage or myocardial damage showed in some patients, were corrected in normal. (8) The retarded picture of epiphysial ossification center were shown by rentgenogram were increased rapidly in number and density. Picture of calcification and ossification occured in scattered foci over a large area in some patients were corrected. (9) Intelligence quotinent in some patients became to attain above 80, but in some patients showed no improvement. (10) No side effects showed in all cases. These observations illustrated that iodocasein mediated was very effective on hypothyroidism and had not no side effects. Iodocasein was recomended to use instead of desiccated thyroid, because the former was less expensive than the latter, in adittion to above observations.
