• Butsujo Zenji Tokishu is a collection of Chinese poems written by Tengan Eko, a Zen Buddhist priest in the Kamakura era. The manuscript is written in Tengan's hand. It was presented to the Hokokuji temple in Kamakura in the same era. In 1926 it was designated as an important cultural treasure. It is now preserved in the Kamakura Kokuhokan Museum in Kamakura. But there are many differences between the manuscript and the booklet published in 1703. Thus, I clarify the book's genealogy. The original form of the manuscript may have been altered because clearly several sections of the manuscript are unnatural. Moreover, the cover shows traces of conversion. The present page distribution may have been replaced by someone other than the author. I indicate that the page distribution of the booklet in 1703 and the original are probably more alike than the present form of the original.
