The author primarily examines two areas, firstly, whether Japanese manufacturing firms have been returning to Japan in the beginning of the 21st century or not. Secondly, which factors are affecting the phenomenon of "reindustrialization" (the antonym of "deindustrialization") in Japan according to different indicators by econometric analysis. This paper's findings are firstly that the share of manufacturing value-added in GDP has been rising, which indicates "reindustrialization" in Japan. Secondly, this has been encouraged by the following factors; i) increasing number of flexible employment, ii) decline of land price, iii) depreciation of yen in terms of effective-real exchange rate. Finally, Japanese manufacturing firms have changed their strategy to create "agglomeration", which has a positive influence on the Japanese economy.
