Nowadays the word "Kensyu" is very well known, and "Kensyu" for teachers is in particular known and self-evident. Generally it is a matter of common knowledge that "Kensyu" was coined in the law for special regulation concerning educational personnel in postwar Japan, but there is no blinking the fact that "Kensyu" had existed in prewar Japan and it was used as the significant concept on education in wartime Japan. It was noticed in fascism policy in wartime and was used actually as a form of re-education for teachers. Fascism, in the process adopting as a form of re-education for teachers and as a form of "Rensei" or "Syuren" for people, formulated "Kensyu" as the concept similar to "Study" in the sense that independently correspond to national education. But paying no attention the facts until today we have thought that "Kensyu" was coined and pervaded in postwar Japan. Therefore, it is necessary to re-examine "Kensyu", though its principle is independent and voluntary. This paper is continued from my preceding paper (1984). This paper consists of the following sections; Preface I The concept of "Kensyu" in the Meiji and Taisyo era II The concept of "Kensyu" in Wartime Japan Conclusion
