The accurate size of affected parts is important for various diagnoses. We propose a method to measure the three-dimensional length of those parts using an endoscope with a tiny magnetic tracking sensor. In this method, an endoscopist manually points the stereo correspondence in two endoscopic images for triangulation. The manual pointing is more reliable compared with automatic stereo correspondence techniques. We analyzed the accuracy of this method by using the rigid object in the experimental environment without metallic objects. It is shown that the endoscope geometry of the triangulation mainly affects the error. Therefore, the endoscope geometry should be considered for practical use.
